ALASKA WEDDING AND ADVENTURE ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Windswept Studio Alaska Wedding Photographer

Hello! I’m Christal, and Alaska is my home.

My husband Justin and I have called Alaska home for 12 years. We live on 5 acres with our children Jasper, Slate, Topaz and Jet. We love Alaska for its glaciers, mountains, lakes, wildflowers, and wild beauty. In the Summer and Autumn, we love to be outdoors and explore. I have been a professional photographer for 15 years.

I am a photographer who values moments and connections. Instead of presenting me with a shot list of the specific things you want to be photographed, such as shoes, a dress hanging from a tree, etc. I ask that you think of three moments that are important to you. For example, a moment between you and your fiance to open gifts, a hug with your grandmother, or the moment you read your vows. These are the meaningful things that matter the most. I’ll have my camera up, capturing the moments happening. The authentic, romantic, and perfectly imperfect moments that you could never even think up. I want to spend my time creating art and imagery that is unique to you!

Watch this video of Miaja and Tanner during their glacier wedding portrait session on the Matanuska Glacier. We are permited to shoot in Alaska State Parks, but we also have our commercial drone licenses and can include drone photos and video of your experience.

“ I wanted to say that we had an amazing photographer! If you’re about to get married or thinking about getting married spend the money for good photos! I highly recommend Windswept Studio if you’re in Alaska. Christal was the best! She didn’t just take the basic shots; she got creative, made everything fun, and helped us not feel awkward while taking photos. “

FAQs

What is my shooting style?

I love being both interactive and discrete throughout the wedding day. There will be parts of the wedding day when I will need to be in control to accomplish everything that needs to be done to keep everyone on schedule. There will also be moments when you shouldn’t know I’m there. (The ceremony, during dances and toasts, etc.) I teach our couples how to pose and interact during their engagement session so they are natural on the wedding day and don’t need quite as much instruction from me!

Do you travel for engagement sessions?

I am more than willing to travel for an engagement session around Alaska! I love it when our couples ask us to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! I book engagement sessions at least three months in advance and include 60 miles of travel.

How many images can I expect?

I average 30-40 final images per hour that I’m actively shooting throughout the day. I love delivering my client’s files quickly and easily via an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want. I believe in freely sharing my work because that is what I would want if I were in your shoes!
